ARCHITECTURE
The original structure was a barn built in the 1960s, raised from the ground, with strict constraints on its shape, volume, and exterior openings but requiring a complete reconstruction.
This was the challenge that Pavol Mikolajcak transformed into a rigorous, balanced project that reinterprets the traditional aesthetic of the chalet while maintaining a profound connection with the Alpine spirit.
“Barns were, in their own way, transparent structures, allowing light and air to flow through. This principle guided the design of the new building.”
